Automation menus needed

Print Post
Believe it or not! there are still some Automation menus missing!!! The menus we require are all V1 menus, in other words menus which have subsequently been re-released due to one or another factor (STe fix etc). So if you have any of the following Automation menus please get in touch!!

134 with auto\Menu prg size NOT 14,018
135 with auto\Menu prg size NOT 22,734 or 50,191
141 with auto\Menu prg size NOT 19,156
381 with Fire Rescue hack screen not 512k
509 with auto\Menu prg size NOT 6,912 (original released by Voodoo)
510 with auto\Menu prg size NOT 21,070 (original released by Voodoo)

Just while we're on the subject of fixed menus, I have been checking through my disks and imaging even the broken ones now, and found a bug on one of the STe fixed menus.
Automation 97 - we all know why this one is cool (Dungeon Master!) on the original menu had raster scrollers on top and bottom and looked real nice, but on the fixed one only has a scroller on the bottom but no rasters.  Ho hum, but the problem is that the fixed menu craps out on a 1mb STf with TOS 1.0, but works fine on a STe with TOS 1.62.
Will check on my 1mb 1.02 machine in the next day or so.

and how goes the DVD gents!?

Cheers

karlm.

Hi Doug!

I've still got that 5.25" drive! Unfortunatly the disks are all long gone, destroyed in the migration to the PC era. Oh X-Wing, what a wonderful thing you were at the time...... It seems "a long time ago, In a galaxy far, far away" since LucasArts released anything with high quality standards and remotely worth playing.

Good to hear from you again Smiley

Btw.. Those last standing menus.. is it only intressting to get the complete disk. or just the menu prg? if only the menu prg which is mainly important. Maybe seek throw all these Intro Compils could be an idea!

As while im checkin my menus, i stumble upon quite lot of automation menu intros!

134,141 & 267 are just the menu prgs

509 & 510 are menus with completely different games on!

mmmh, I always assumed that the way to differentiate between v1's and v2' (STe fixes) was by file size, but I was thinking, some may be the same size! so i'm gonna byte compare some menu prgs.

Many didn't have different scrollers.

I think most simply changed the values written to $fffffa21.w
hence maybe same size! Smiley

I'd hazard a guess that at the time you didn't see the point of hanging on to inferior code that you'd fixed and didn't see the point in 'wasting' disks - and the idea that In 20 or so years you might want this original code you were copying over for a preservation project didn't really cross your mind.

Hindsight is an exact science as they say.

However - unless you can flag down a passing timelord and ask him to tell the you of 1987 not to copy over the original disks, then it's a moot point.. Smiley

I look Automation 28 scroll and there is text "finished menu", so is there one missing (v1) menu somewhere? (Scrolltext say itīs because some games need to be start using auto-folder and thatīs why one game is now in other menu or something like that.)

Hi Jake

I'll add Sub Humans stuff to the XLS

can you still send LOTT as I'm sure Disk 4 will be the same as other cracks , it will be the first disk which is different.

Midwinter 2 - I don't think I included it as I classed it as TMB who were never in Automation. Cynix is more complicated as it had members from S.H.I.T (Automation), Medway Boys and the Pyrotechnics (Automation).

I thing Cynix Heimdall is 5 disks (Boot disk and then disks 1-2-3-4) like Lure of the temptress (intro and then disks a-b-c). Not 4 like in bible read.
---

Lure of the tempress is here. (Except last disk, what is totally broken.)
---

I see in list not are these Cynix disks who are in Marcerīs dvd:
Knights of the sky, Populous 2 and 1st division manager (Not work in  tos 1.62).

In Marcer dvd is too TBE games Stockmarket, The search an st bec (no intros in these, so mayby in some menus too).

And Jimmy whites, Magic pockets, Titanic blinky and Rodland by S.h.i.t.

----

But how New order disks because TBE was member here?

Hi Jake

Yeah that's been used on a few S.H.I.T. cracktros and also BBC menus, off the top of my head menu #44 rings a bell. The source was also released on an old TLB Disk maggie.

Bandit: Can you check to see if you have any missing V1's? see the first post of this thread.#
