Okay, seriously, all this points to your memory being bad. Or it's not plugged in properly. I'd suggest unplugging all SIMMs, blowing away dust, using a contact cleaner spray, then plugging them back firmly.

I agree. Looks definitely like duff RAM to me.
Probably one of the modules for the higher RAM regions, which are used by both WoD and GIII, I suppose.

I was thinking the same thing.

I got this computer from best electronics. It should be under warranty for 90 days. I'll email him about the problems. Maybe he can send me new ram...

They put the stickers over the screws on the bottom that says warranty void if broken. SO, I'll contact them 1st to see what they tell me.

Ok, I ran this memtest on my Mega STe and I see this.
I don't speak german, but it looks like "error at" and a memory address. Is my ram failing these tests?

Yes it is.
110 Errors reported in this test.

Contact your dealer or, if you're bold, do like GGN said.  Wink

Don't despair though, this is fairly trivial to fix. Even if your vendor can't/won't replace your ram chips, you can find tons of these on ebay (hell, I myself have sent a lot of 4mb SIMM packs to various people for free over the years), and replacing these takes about 10 mins thanks to the mste's easily accessible design.

So what are the specs of the Mega STe's memory requirements? What type of simms? Will any 30 pin 1mb simms work? Aslo do you need to have all 4 simm slots filled?

Thanks for all the help so far!

Just for the record, you should look for 30pin simms, 1mb each. I think that anything above or equal to 60ns should be ok.

For the record, got new Simms from the dealer and the machine works great now. Including Gauntlet III and Wings of Death.  Grin
