Outrun

OK everyone has their opinion on this game, personally mine is this is a playable conversion of a brilliant arcade game that I played and played when I first got my hands on it on the ST.

Graphics are good for the time and after all, lets face facts we were never going to have the arcade quality images or realistic sfx, but somehow it works.  The music is a tad annoying but soon forget about it as you play.  The trickiest part of the game for me at least is seeing what's coming up, all of a sudden the road widens (OK to see) but then there are plants in the middle and queue the massive swerve to avoid the roll over (complete with mysteriously disappearing driver and passenger) - of course take the left or the right determines which stage is stage 2 (or 3 or 4 etc) for you.  Thanks to the two-tone road you do get a sense of speed with the game which adds to the excitement and feel of racing that Ferrari down the coastal roads and through the mountains

I know its a game that divides some, but give it another blast its a part of history
