From what I can tell, it's like MAME, only crap.

Seems to be half complete emulators bundled into one big lump, that run slower than their stand alone counterparts.

I'm not leaving my nice, warm, comfy Steem Debug for anyone. Bah Humbug!

MACMess is ok if you simply cannot find a quality emulator for obscure systems.
(Such as ASTROCADE)
I have loaded my MACmess with dozens of such systems and the idea is good but
definately could use some tweeking.
As for running STf or STe softwares, I prefer NoSTalgia, the best emulator for MACs.
It is so close to an actual ST, I sometimes find myself reaching behind the keyboard
for the ST's reset button.
STeem not so impressive by comparison but then it is for crappy PC machines, isnt it?
A fixed budget does that to ones ability to choose between a VW or a Ferrari. ;D

While a flexible budget allows you to pay 2-3 times as much for something half the speed (and white).

I don't get the "White" reference tho...

BTW....COMP USA is closing ALL of its stores here and everything is stupidly cheap.

Toshiba laptops for $399 and everything must go!

MacMESS is a good em cuz it does "Sinclair QL" a virtually unknown system in USA.

It is cool cuz it does the LEGENDARY FLOP from APPLE CORP., "LISA" computer."
(Which, by the way, if you have one, APPLE will give you an $8000.00 rebate on cuz Steve Jobs
feels so bad. (Really!)

Its cool cuz when I find my computer so intuitively ;)easy to use, I can remind myself of all those
obscure codes and CLI (command line interpreters) that I once had to know. WOOF!! :-/

MacMESS is cool cuz when it emulates a PC, it does it complete with all the usual PC bugs, reminding
me why I choose a MAC instead. ::)
