Title: HD Patches
Post by Heavy Stylus on 16.04.08 at 19:06:07
Now you've got this spiffy new website up and running, here's an idea for you.  What about listing (on the patches page) the D-Bug CD's that contain HD friendly/installable games?  Hell, some of the more recent CDs are even falcon compatible...

Well I did ask for help on that on another thread, but there was little to zero feedback :/

Oh well.  In that case, I guess it's just one of those jobs you'll get around to sometime in the future...  Onwards and upwards, as always.

For years now I've toyed with the idea of creating a website featuring all the games that I've sucessfully installed on HD, but have never got around to it.  Some of these I've even patched myself (via HEX) to remove A: from file paths in the executables. ;)

I've got something like 130MB of games on my Steem virtual HD (but only 30MB of my favourites on my real Atari Supradrive).  When I get my Zip disk system working I'll be able to test the rest of them...

GGN - is it worth me sending you a list of the stuff I've got that works from HD on my 4MB STE (TOS 2.06)?  Would that be of any help?

My Supradrive is full to bursting with games that I've transfered over - nothing rare (and there are a lot of D-Bug cracks on there) but because size is an issue for my little drive I've only got my favourites on my real Atari.

(I actually unpacked *everything* last night (apart from your patches) and repacked all the executables with UPX - gaining an additional 15MB in the process).  UPX is a superb atari tool!

I'm pretty sure that there isn't one for stardust. As for space fighter.... errr.... I don't know the game?

Spacefighter: a 3D, filled polygon remake of Star Wars.  Artwork by Dune.  Coder pr0n.  Search for it on AL...

Falcon compatible, just needs a HD fix.

As for Stardust - a HD patch would be great for that to save on the heavy disk swapping IMO.

Most of the intro visuals were later seen on the illusion demo. Anyway this game is already hd compatible. Needs a clean boot though.

Christos - you sure?  The version I've got won't work at all - tries to access A:

Well, if you're right I'm very happy.  Drop me a PM with a link or your email address - I'd really like a working copy if possible.

One for STOT perhaps? ;)

I think I'll start a new thread on here listing all the stuff I've got to work on my (real) STE HD.  Hopefully others can add to it.

Well, I just downloaded the version from atariforce, used steem to copy the files to the harddrive, then placed the executable together with the other files, copied it to my hd and it ran.

Edit: About STOT, 3d games don't really age very well. We'll see

Edit:- Actually, I won't post it up here :( I can't seem to add attachments...
