Title: Manhattan Chasers
Post by Dack on 04.01.09 at 23:35:55
It [Top Banana] still cannot compare with the legendary game "Manhatten Chasers".

This was a "tribute" to Outrun that loaded Degas pictures off the floppy during the game (to simulate going through a tunnel).

Imagine, if you will, a road racing game that would stop every 30 or 40 seconds to load and display 5 pictures. Each file taking 2/3 seconds to load.

So:
Repeat
30 seconds of flickery 3d race,
12 seconds of disc load and flicker (5 frames of animation in total)
until reset.

Rumour had it that the game was bought up by US Gold as they were bringing out the official Outrun (written by Probe though).

Are you guys sure that this game was actually at the stores? Google can't find anything on this.

Maybe it was handed out as a promo thinghy?

If you find it I will personally patch it for EVERYTHING :)

But, obviously, no ramdisk loading. wouldnt want to "kill" the framerate :P

Hah, About four copies of Manhattan Dealers, But no Chasers, Someone I know seems to think it was given away with the early ST packages, I don't know if this is true though. :)
