Title: Archive request
Post by robert2098 on 07.01.09 at 08:35:21
Thank you very much for having the archive online. It is great to see all major menu disks online in one place.

One request. Can you consider to put the "Persistence of Vision" demo compilation menus in the archive as well. The "official" website doesn't have the menus online anymore (dead link).

Thanks and regards,

Robert

i'll see what we can do

I've got all the menus somewhere.. and MSD could provide the newer disks.

Folder structure created - I'm sure Shw or GGN will upload them shortly.

I'm sure I have the official POV ISO. I'll extract the files and upload it when I can (No Fragments 4 is incomplete still ;))

Thanks guys. I saw you already created the the POV entry and uploaded lots of files. I suppose this is the POV CD ggn mentioned. But I did not see the disk images of the POV Menu Disks there.

In the mean time I searched my harddisk and found POV menus 1-165 as .msa files. So if needed I can send them to you.

Robert

Well, I'll eventually get to the disks, it's just that I didn't have enough time last night to upload the whole CD (and I don't like leaving the machine uploading all night long :))

Great stuff - something like this was missing for quite sometime.
Do you plan to add No Fragments #2 - or do you consider that useless?

In any case *thumps up*

After the POV CD finished, it's time for NF2 now :)

Next request please ;)

ggn (uploading stuff and ripping scrollers lately, will get back to fixing stuff when I get bored :))

(btw, post #400 \o/)

Just wanted to say thanks for all the work you guys are doing and its great to see the menu archive, I was particularly pleased to see the sewer doc menus appear as i for one have certainly found them useful and think they are an often overlooked resource,The site i usually get them from it appears is closing http://pompeypirates.final-memory.org/news.shtml.
It would be nice to have the whole collection hard drive installable and searchable from a single menu dont you think? or is that wishful thinking
Anyway guys thanks for all your hard work ,keeping my ste  very happy indeed :)

How is some The Bald Eagle/Guardians of Logik/New Order menus?

Title: Re: Archive request
Post by CJ on 11.01.09 at 00:53:49
At the moment the archive is missing.... presumed... missing...

We've not heard from the ISP so we dont know what is going on.

As for the request... We might host the GOL disks, but not TBE/New Order as they'd be classified under "couldn't crack an egg" (our clasification for people who just packed the .PRG file and wrapped the data in UltraLoad III [The Chunky Lumpy packer] claiming they were great!)

News update: we're nearly back online with even more content :).

And I just had an idea: scanned manuals. Anyone wants to contribute? Please get in touch!

Title: Re: Archive request
Post by CJ on 14.01.09 at 13:07:35
Can we refine this to "good quality scanned manuals" please?

Some of those on replacement-docs are bloody unreadable!

Thanks for the Archive - it's a great reference.

I've got all the POV menus if anyone needs them - I actually found them in a torrent from ThePirateBay that had all the STAX menus in there too (and a bunch of other crack menus that I already had, so I only got the parts of the torrent that I wanted..)

I was wondering if you're going to feature 'Crazy Boy' menus,  I have a few, but I'd like to fill in the gaps.

Here's what I have:

10, 15, 21 - 30, 31, 33, 34, 36-39 and 44.
(I think I got these off the Berlin FTP.)

Anyone know how many of these menus there were and/or have any of the others?

I'd also like to see a complete set of Zuul menus if possible.

I'd also like to see a complete set of pre-Automation BBC Disks - but as it think was mentioned in this thread, Andy the Arfling's cracks didn't seem to 'take' well on later TOSes and the STE.

(I think most of the games the BBC cracked were on other disks by other crews though, so the intros are really all that matters..)

Nope and nope. They just bombed out on 4mb configurations.

CJ will tell us for sure, but I think that the BBC did all the work themselves.

Thanks for the Archives.

Is there possible put Transmission CD inline for zipped?
Nope and nope. They just bombed out on 4mb configurations.
I stand corrected.
CJ will tell us for sure, but I think that the BBC did all the work themselves.
I wasn't implying that the BBC didn't crack the games by themselves - just that many games that they did crack have appeared on menus by other crews - therefore I (probably) already have them and (for me anyway) the Menu itself would be the most important part of the disk..

Hmm yeah I guess we could 'remaster' the menus if we got the titles :)

BTW, big archive being uploaded atm - I'll announce it here when it's up :)

Title: Re: Archive request

It's been a while since I last posted here, but there are 2 new items on the archive:

- A polish FTP mirror with lots of game disk images and utilities. The images are mostly in FCopy pro .DIM format and lots of them are not readable by any emulator. However I have written a small util for this. So if anyone wants it, I can post it here!

- A big Pasti collection. I have cleaned it up and killed all the dupes (from md5sums), so each image in there is unique. However if you spot any anomaly in there, please mention it here so I can check it out and fix it.

Thanks, we still have a few more things to add to it - but it's getting there (death to planetemu and their bodgy download pages!)

If anyone has any disks we've got missing, stuff we don't have archived, new pasti images etc then please get it touch and we will add it for everyone to enjoy.

We will let you know as soon as our hosting company (Streamline.net) let us know.

We're in "Discussions" (With a capital D) with them at the moment. Or we would be if they bothered to reply to support calls.

Title: Re: Archive request

I know I mentioned it before - but how about the Zuul menus?

Or Replicants? (or is that a touchy subject?)

Title: Re: Archive request
Post by CJ on 25.03.09 at 05:12:51
The archives (both of them) are on hold at the moment because we have differences of opinion with our hosting ISP over exactly what Business Class Unlimited Storage and Bandwidth means.

We think it means what it says, they (Streamline.net - avoid at all costs) think it means "delete things as you upload them, hastle you over your site, and delete your files without warning while never answering or replying to any support calls."

Ahem. Mini rant over.
