Title: Some 'New' Releases i've done for Atari ST
Post by Phill on 19.10.09 at 18:39:15
Most here probably have never heard of me, I used to crack for Fairlight on Amiga.

For whatever reason, I got a bit of a bug to try something on Atari ST, a machine I owned of all three weeks back in 1988 and then moved onto Amiga.

Been there, done it all on Amiga, so thought i'd try something else.

Got given a list of games that were not cracked on ST, so started working through some of them, more of a test for me to see if I could do it on another machine.... looks like I was successful! ;)

So, offered here for download as well.

Gnome Ranger
Hunter (French Version)
Lancelot
Knight Orc
Sky Blaster
Rick Dangerous Enhanced

And the other three.

Sky Blaster is a BETA version, its a buggy piece of crap software, lots of assumptions made by the programmer, and trying to overwrite the end of RAM as well!!

RENAME "RICKST.ZIP" to "RICKST.PRG"

Nothing new in Rick Enhanced, it's just got the ability to start on any level - which exists in nearly all the versions on menus from 20 years back :)

If you are doing raw data to files, check out our ULSv3 area.

think that's down to Marcer's weird wish list... eg She-Fox which is Vixen with a different PI1 etc.

Although the high-level interpreter stuff is nice ;)

Yeah, every version of a Level 9 game I came across on ST didn't appear to be cracked.

Got one more to add to that list (Ingrids Back: Gnome Ranger 2).

Protection is written 100% the same as the Amiga version hence why I was able to do them so quickly, my first Level 9 crack I did wasn't so quick though! :(

and yes, Marcers list is responsible for the games i'm picking.

Haha, She Fox.... whatever the name, its not an exciting prospect!  ;D

Yeah I guessed that, it was there to be done so I did it.

To be honest I think Marcer only wants them all for completion sake, because lets face it, most of these games will probably never be played again.  ;)

Might well check out ULS, thats the ST inspired version of WHDLoad isn't it?

BTW, I see you've done Gary Lineker's Hot-Shot

I already did this ages ago for D-Bug 185

http://www.dbug-automation.co.uk/menus.asp?s=185&e=190

Marcer surely knew this!?!  :)

I have no clue buddy, I did find out Treasure Trap v1.07 was already done.

Is there anything else on that list of his thats already been done?  I'm not keen on duplicating the work of others, i'm pretty much just going by his list.

Best bet is to use the search function on our site to do a quick check.. .only takes a second.

Gary Lineker was dead easy as far as I could remember :)

It was beyond easy.

Before i'd even run the game I could see the routine in an endless loop to colour the screen and realised it was a disk check, utterly, utterly useless!

I had it cracked before i'd even run it to check for protection.

OK, will do a check for the others, I really can't be arsed duplicating others work, I know it irritates me when I see someone say "i'm going to re-crack this!" and I think, I did it 100% first time around, I don't need my version replacing with yours!  >:(

Hunter was quite easy, the encryption on bootup wasn't very well done, and obviously the Copylock was easy to remove.

My list is based on two things

1. Special version & never been touched.
2. Not found alter single disk hack.

if u just want to hack never been cracked in a way. Then let me know and i can filter this

"1. Special version & never been touched.
2. Not found alter single disk hack."

If you mean not on a menu then I guess there's quite of lot of our old LSD / WNW menus which have games which aren't featured elsewhere... or do you mean protected games which you have which don't appear as single cracks ?

Of course this opens the old debate of not including games we've done just because we insist on the disk not been bastardised (ie split up).

1. Is there soo many games (c) missing as stand along cracks at this moment? I may have done my homework badly. But I have tried too sweep lookin throw as many menu collections around.

2.  Done is done, just tryin to avoid bad feelings.
but still reach my goal.

Marcer, are you aware that most of your disk images are corrupted and don't work?

I've deleted the entire lot based on roughly 60% bombs and errors. The intros may work but the actual games themselves dont.

How come I dont got reports with specific title & crack crews? as I do have alter copys of MANY disks.

hard to belive this. I think your file transfer didnt go well.

But please give me more details and I'll try to invasteigate and pop up an new update pack asap!

Also, if u read last .NFO I dont test or take any responsibilty for Ppera things nor include future releases from him!

Yes, the CRC checked ISO image "didn't transfer well"...

As for a report, I don't have the man hours to list all the errors. Try try booting a few and playing them, and you'll see for yourself.

I assume we're talking about Marcers DVD not the releases i've just done?

Hmmm, this is very strange to me, I have tested all games (at least played tested for about 10 sec).
If games crash I have added that to the listing.
Reason I included these is, that they may work on a real hw with an special tos and mem.

as all games is tested with Emu, Tos 1.02/1.62 512kb-4mb. Pasti on/off. HD on/off, Drive B on/off.

Have u also followed my instructions if a game faild for u?

As I belive we speak about my GameDvd. Its important for me to find bugs I may missed!

Maybe we should move this Marcer Dvd thing to another topic..

Nope, I follwed my instructions of "if a dvd is full of bad images, delete the damn thing and don't trust anything on it"

Also, putting our HD Patches (which we supply as ZIP) on your DVD in MSA format... is... mind bogglingly stupid.  They are not designed for floppy use, and you just added an extra layer of harassment for anyone trying to use them.

Not to mention the fact that by doing this you break the file integrity checks built into the archive, introducing another level of possible file corruption (we recommend people extract the archives directly onto the atari system in order to eliminate transfer errors)

Putting hard-drive versions as disk archives rather than ZIP files .... eh?!?!

WHD Load patches as ADF's or DMS's next ;)

Well, I won't even ask about the ones that don't fit on a floppy, or have several subfolders.....

Oh and Phill - ignore the Navy Moves request on "the other forum" - we did that one months ago. It's on our patches page.

Oh, I did an Dir called HD Working Games..
But maybe u dont have that one..
these zips are "files" so u easy extract the pack on your hd.

But then. You seems not to have the real thing (dvd) only a copy of an early collection which isnt even completded in download form & many corrupt downloads.. so.. I belive your critics shouldnt be taken seriously.

U dont came up with titles so I can fix... brrr

But I will soon release complete lot. Maybe in one rar in week form for completion until next xmas..

Well, considering the disc you are selling contains a lot of our work (admittedly, bastardised greatly by yourself) you neglected to actually send us a copy of it.

Whatever dude, whatever. I'm quite glad I don't have the real thing. Paying for a corrupted collection of files that working versions can be found online for free isn't my idea of fun ;-)

Will you be making a 4.3gb MSA file for that as well, or will you be shipping it on 6291 floppy images?

I'm sorry, this thread is way off topic - Phill, feel free to start another one - nobody wants to discuss corrupted disk images :)
