It seems that no matter if cheat is checked or not from the launcher, the game has unlimited lives. You can die over and over and the 5 lives never decreases.

I did find an extra life behind a painting to make it six. :)

Just checked it out myself in STEEM. Same thing.
This is a fun game. I would play with unlimited lives anyway ;-p
