Heh, just thought I'd ask for a bit of feedback and to see if anyone actually cares about the things we do (as usual, if not, the patches can stay and rot on our hard drives!).

I'll kick off this writing that my fav patch is what I'm working on the last couple months now, and I think most people will fall in love with once it's out!

Ha - well, considering that the reason for me investing in a hard disk in the first place was due to your extensive list of patched games (and this was back in 2006), I have to say that my favourites include:

Nebulus / Bubble Bobble / Anarchy / Devious Designs / Rainbow Islands / Rick Dangerous I & II, R-Type I & II, Return To Genesis, Xenon & Xenon II, Lethal Xcess, Saint Dragon and of course Gauntlet II (4 players FTW!).

(If I'm allowed to include Atari ST HD patches then I have to add SWIV to that list).

I especially like the SHW interface for Nebulus and the like - probably the reason why his cracks are amongst my favourites Smiley

Is *this* the one that we were discussing via MSN then?  When's it out?

Oh, and don't be disheartened by the lack of replies to this thread - the forum has been noticably quieter since you took down the site - but I'm sure they'll come back Smiley

Of course I do care about the things you do. It is great to play all those old games which I enjoy more than then modern eye candy games. I still have an Atari XE, ST and Falcon up and working and ready to play. And indeed, don't get disappointed by the lack of replies. I follow your website already for years and this is my first post on your forum. It is easier to download than post a message  Tongue
Keep up the good work. Your cracks/patches are always high quality.  Smiley

(Really, more people should post in this thread!)

My current favourite is Turrican, but that's only because I'm not allowed to mention a certain other game I've been testing! Wink

I can't pick a single favourite as you guys already patched a lot of my personal favourites on ST! Keep them coming, it is marvellous work and really appreciated!  Smiley

Well, the post meant something like: "Out of the things we patched, what's your fave?"

From a technical point, my favourite is F1GP. There's just so much "new patch tech" in there it's hard for me not to have a soft spot for it. Without F1 there would be no ULSv3.. and without ULSv3 there would be no F1, as it was developed alongside the patch.

WoD is also a very nice one, although technically not as demanding as F1GP was to fix (even with the Amiga music) it was still a thrill the first time the TFMX played without crashing.

*HELD BACK* is also one of my personal favourites, nowhere near as complicated as F1GP, but it still required a ULS_EXECUTE command, which I always find fun. (Will be released 'yeah, around then I guess')

As for gameplay, I always had a soft spot for Midnight Resistance.

I can't stand Xenon II - it's too slow, and the music is dreadful. In fact I don't really rate the Bitmap Bros games much at all - they remind me of psygnosis - all glitz and no depth.

You could say that for Xenon 2 for example. But games like Gods and Chaos Engine have huge depth if you get into them. Secret levels, side missions, etc. Very enjoyable and far above the average game of the era.

You could make a case for the same to be said about Dungeon Master and Chaos Strikes Back, but the simple fact is I don't like those either Tongue

Apart from Wings Of Death (quite obvious) it's Cannon Fodder and R-Type. It's phantastic that I can play CF from hd and compare it to the Jaguar version of it. Grin

The second... Well, I just like that kind of games.

Is the jaguar version of CF so bad that it can be compared to the ST version? Seriously, the lack of horizontal scrolling sucks big time.

Well, that's the reason why I like to compare those versions. It always shows how much better the Jaguar version is. Smiley

Apart from that I like the fact that you can play the ST version with a mouse. The controller is the second best option for playing that kind of games.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone.
