What about Dragon's Lair / Space Ace?

Hi,

for some strange reason I today remembered about these games. I remember how awfully bad it was to play them, in fact, I never got the idea what is that game about -- it was something-something-swap disk-swap again-some animation-swap again etc... maybe it would be cool to see it as HD fixed to ... get the idea what was that game about Wink

But not for HD (and I certainly won't)...  Tongue
Ok, it's been some time since I did it (and I learned a bit in the meantime), but this $%&§!! Readysoft code nearly drove me berserk while cracking it. Smiley

Do these even count as 'games'?  I always thought they were more like an interactive cartoon.

Games are supposed to be fun after all Wink

Indeed...I remember ads for Space Ace in the magazine "ST Magazin" which said 120DM back then (roughly 55-60EUR today) - and that's for an  unplayable game.

@Klaz: BTW was it true that Space Ace worked with SF354 too (Single sided drive) giving half of the game? (That was claimed in that mentioned ad...)

Yes, probably.
I never checked it on a single-sided drive, but with the way it spools data from disk (side 0 tracks 0-80, then side 1 tracks 80-0), it might work.

Yes, it does give you half the game on a S/S disk. I know this because the copy I got first was only single sided!

I have to say I like Space Ace.... the DL games are utter poop tho.
(Even tho I bought the DVD to play them on the TV!)

Interesting to see such claims verified Smiley
Maybe I should play it once more, somehow I always got stuck in these type of "games"...and most of the time not too far after the intro sequence.

Well, the trick is that you don't have to move the joystick around like a maniac. At the precise moment you should move your stick only once to the proper direction (or push the fire button).
