Helter skelter

Take a bog-standard platformer, add a weird twist and you've got a cool game!

The game has you controlling a ball which has to touch some moving animals in a certain order (the current animal you need to touch is indicated by an arrow). If you touch the wrong animal, then it splits in 2 pieces, so you have to worry about one extra animal to finish the level. Which of course raises the anxiety level as the clock is ticking! Luckily there are some bonuses to help you on your way, in the form of a clock freeze, or the letters E-X-T-R-A that, when collected, give you an extra life, enemy freeze, etc.

What's the twist then? The controls themselves. Instead of pushing the fire button to jump up, instead it gives you a push downwards, and if there's enough kinetic energy when the ball reaches the ground, then it bounces back up. You have to time it a bit to gain height but after a while it gets quite natural.

As with all assembly line games, the game has nice graphics, cool sampled sounds, 50fps action and gameplay that makes you come back for one more go Smiley.

Version 2 is a bad dump. Star Goose is corrupt, although that is a lovely shade of blue... Exxos's works and so isn't blue at all.
Also, is this forum abandoned now? It certainly isn't looking well. Sad

Hi John,

Thanks for the report, I'll talk to Shw about this and we'll fix this soon!

The forum has a few hiccups due to the use of https - if you go to https://d-bug.mooo.com/dbugforums/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl it should be showing up fine. I'll look into it more soon (also)!

And update here: our top menu person Shw is in charge of fixing up the menu, the fixed version should be available soon if not done yet!

Also, I think I got the forum looking weird under control. If anyone still has problems, speak up!
