Space Harrier - Sega - Elite

I am assuming that this is the first release of SH 1 and not the arcade SH 1.
Novel and inventive, First Person Shoot'em up. Colourful with catchy music. Don't think there is another game like this... only SP2 perhaps! lol Mouse or Joystick control, better on the mouse but perfectly adequate via the joystick. I personally have a love hate relationship with this game, I love shooters, and this has all the wave patterns and shooting I would need! The game also doesn't suffer from 'afterburner syndrome' and retains its playability. Many levels to play through ( there is a FULL ARCADE level version of this too! )

Top Marks for something original!
Cool

Only two versions I am aware of were for the Sega Master System originally - All others are direct ports of the arcade game

There is, I believe a first release of Space Harrier then a second release of Space Harrier with all the Arcade levels intact ( also STe either compatible or enhanced )

Then there is Space Harrier 2

I just checked both boxes Space Harrier (c) 1986 Elite ( release 1 )
Space Harrier - Elite (c) 1988 / 1990 ( Release 2 )

Cool I didn't know it was already hacked... not sure too many people know there are two version ones!

There is two versions of Space Harrier one, One is released by Sega, The other by Elite, I don't know the difference though. Same thing happened with the C64 version. Something to do with licence tribbles, I guess. Smiley

I don't know about license troubles... I have a plastic cased 1986 SEGA / Elite release and a meduim Cardboard boxed version 1988/1990 Sega / Elite, there's a sticker which states 520STe or 1040 ST Only . Might hope it uses some STe features?
