Falcon's League - Declare your interest.

Working title: Falcon's League (feel free to suggest another).

Basic idea: The STOT cannot leave the falcon behind. There are quite a few great games there but they are too few in absolute numbers. So a championship kind of contest won't work there and it will also attract users away from STOT. We don't want that! We just want to add to the fun Smiley

So we thought the cup kind of way and follow loosely the Euro and World cup rules. So this will be separated into stages the number of which will be a function of the amount of players registering.

Stage 1: The group phase.
Players will be separated into groups of four where applicable and will contest each other. We won't have double games since it's pointless. Victory awards 2 points, defeat 0 and in the unlikely event of a draw 1 point goes to each player. Please do not fix the games! The two players with the highest score advance to the next phase while the two last players go to the phase of shame. Both phases are reversely analogous so I'll describe the advancement to the final next.

Stage 2, semi finals or quarter semi finals depending on the amount of players. This is an elimination round, people play against each other and the winner advances while the one defeated will play against the defeated of the other game.

Stage 3, final phase. Winners play for the final while those defeated play for the 3rd - 4th place.

What are the prerequisites? We will need people that will register in the contest in advance. So this will be a closed contest after the registration period. We would also like people to be a bit more commited than in the STOT. We can't force anyone to play but it would spoil the fun a bit if suddenly someone decided to stop. Having said that, this won't be a professional event and it's about the fun of it. So if someone stops having fun and decides to stop he will be flamed to death Tongue.

You mean there's something to play?  I thought the fun was cracking them! I didn't realise they had further entertainment value Tongue

I'm already lacking behind in testing the standard fixes s daily a new one shows up. Great work guys Smiley
But I don't want to play F030 stuff for another tournament, I even stopped STOT for awhile.

The idea is good however  Cheesy
