Hold your horses there, the month has just started Wink

The D-Bug engine is still running at full speed! I'm almost tempted to reveal the game list for you all, but I'm afraid that the others will kill me Smiley. We're all very excited because we have a beautiful line up of games (even we are astonished at their quality) and we're just as happy as you to see them playing on our 16/32 machines.

Place your bets now for the games you predict to see this month Smiley

I reckon the Bitmap Bros classics Gods and Xenon will be in the list somewhere...  And a new DBug menu on Christmas day? But please don't tell me if I'm right - I like surprises!  Wink

I had great fun playing Robot Monsters the other day - I forgot how much I loved that game!

-PS.  Not had a chance to try it on real HW, but STEEM (4MB+TOS2.06) crashes and burns when you try to run the *game* intro (from the options in the cracktro).

Will report later if the same happens on my real STE (but won't have a chance to try till the weekend).

The game seems fine though.  It was one of my favourites when I was a young'un Smiley

Don't sweat it GGN - with all the top quality work you've been doing a few *minor* slip ups are bound to happen.  You D-Buggers are only human after all.  I have my doubts about CJ though... I hear rumours that he's some sort of cyborg cracking machine sent from the future to ressurect the Atari Falcon...  Wink

First Samurai is now fixed for TOS 2.06.  Sorry for the slip up!  It won't happen again.  I'll go and stand in the corner and whip myself to make sure Tongue

Also, GGN fixed Badlands for 1mb (I whipped him too) Smiley

Hey D-Bug!

Nice work with that Advent Calender and an awesome idea, too! Thanks for that!  Smiley

But i have a problem with "Golden Axe": On my Falcon030 (Specs are below in my Signature) it doesnīt run.
I get the Intro of the game but when i press a button to play it, i get weird graphics, the sound is stuck and my Falcon crashed. It happens with 16MHz on and off, Cache on and off and with NVDI on and off. It even crashes with a Clean Boot. Sad
What can it be, ggn?
By the way: "Interphase" i have to play without (!) Cache enabled to make it work. Otherwise it will crash similar to Golden Axe now. But i can run "Interphase" with 16 MHz without problems though...  Huh (I can even play it with my 25MHz Phantom CPU/Bus Accelerator, but itīs too fast for me then.)

Best regards, Saviour.

P.S.: I really hope so much that there will be Lemmings and Gods behind a Window of the Advent Calender somewhere! Smiley

Ok, my head was simply mashed last night, so I forgot to add any comments to the release. Firstly it doesn't work on my machine at all with cache on. Why is the option there then? Simply because if I took off the cache question then it refused to run on my TT! (yes, I must have assembled 20-30 versions last night to figure that out).

Try this: start with a cold boot (I'd disable NVDI too), then choose 16mhz, no cache. The most probable reason that it didn't work in that configuration in your machine is that you did a warm boot after trying the game with any configuration and then resetting. This all has to do with the TT compatibility I wrote above, maybe I will release 2 separate versions for Falcon and TT, because no matter how I tried to fix the game for one machine, for unknown (to me) reasons it failed on the other.

That's easy: I simply forgot to remove the cache on/off question Wink. So what you see there with cache on is absolutely normal! Thanks for reporting it, I'll fix that ASAP.

I am sorry to say this ggn, but i tried "Golden Axe" in every configuration now and always switched my Falcon off for 10 Seconds before trying the next time, but it refuses to work. No luck for me. Sad
Maybe you can have another look at it, if you have the time (only if you have time, youīve already done so much and you will be surely still very busy!)?

My respects for your hard work, lads! Other Atari Groups can really learn a lot from you, well done everyone! Keep up the good work. Stay cool, stay /|\ ! Smiley

Hi Saviour,

Sorry you are having problems with Golden Axe - unfortunatly none of us can recreate your problem on any of our Falcons (We have access to 6 different Falcons, with various memory/CPU/HD driver options)

So, unfortunatly, I don't think we can help with that right now - are you *sure* you don't load anything strange from AUTO?

Ok, 2 news items from me:

a) Interphase is re-uploaded with cache options gone
b) I managed to recreate the problem on my 4mb Falcon. Apparently it seems that if the game is loaded low in memory then it doesn't work!!!! ATM I'm baffled as to why this is happening, but if you can ensure that the game is loading high (make your hddriver caches bigger) then it will work I gather! Of course this is just a suggestion to get it working, I'll find a fix for this ASAP! (it's late in the night for me Wink)

Hey CJ!
No i do a clean boot *everytime* i start my Falcon otherwise it will start MagiC automatically! Wink

Anyway, i got good news. I found the problem: It was not your work ggn, i am really sorry for that! It seemed to went corrupted when copying from my PC onto my Falcon (via 1.44MB Floppy). After everthing failed, i deleted the file on my Falcon and re-copied it...and now it works fine...

Hm, seems either my PC Floppy or my Falcon Floppy has some strange issues.

Guys, thanks for your help! I am so sorry that i posted a problem that wasnīt your fault!
Great work, next time i will be more careful.

Happy Santa-Clause-day (or what is it called in UK? In Germany itīs "Nikolaustag".) for you and your family for *every* D-Bug Member (I think the marvellous work of Dubmood needs also to be mentioned!).
I am really glad to have such powerful, competent and kind Users in the Atari Community! Have fun!

Best regards, Saviour

P.S.: Fire & Brimstone for the 7th! Great!!! And it even works! Wink  Grin

"Golden Axe" worked fine until i tried it again when i read your post, ggn...
Itīs the same error again! So itīs the freaking HDDriver? What a piece of nasty software, it makes alot of problems!  Angry

Where can i change my Cache size for HD Driver, anyone?

Try that, see if it helps.

HDDriver isnt the most friendly of things to use, but it does unfortunatly seem to be the standard.  I personally prefer ICDTools (Which I use on the MSTe), but both my Falcons have HDDriver running on them Sad
