Alrighty then!
I don't foresee a huge problem with fixing the paths problem (Top Banana and Super Stuntman had the exact same problem!).
And the caches problem while unpacking again shouldn't be a big problem (just disable caches while unpacking).
The fastram bit... hmmm, as you say, it uses BSS so that should be a problem. Unless its state machine is register-relative. For example Elvira loaded an address register (a5 iirc), and all variables in the game were accessed using xxx(a5). Then maybe an mxalloc at the beginning of the game, and pointing a5 there could solve the problem easily (yes, I like being optimistic
).
The real question though is: Is it worth it?
I remember playing it on my ST, and it had horrible rendering, full of inaccuracies and low resolution. Is the Falcon verision any better regarding these two aspects?
I mean, if I do spend the time fixing this, will people play it in the end or would the end result just be a wasted effort?
And by the way mikro, you have provided the ct6x community with two classy FPS shooters, why don't we turn to other genres?
Really waiting for some comments.
