This is actually in response to this thread on Atari-Forum.

Just wondering if you have a working version of this menu anywhere.
The version of #259 on the Berlin FTP is (apparently) corrupt and it seems to be the only image around.

Not that arsed about it myself, but the guy in the thread wants the game so bad that he actually bought the original, but seems to be having STE/4 MB conflicts with it that cause it to crash.  (That or the disks are corrupt).

Thought you might fancy another 'fix' project..

had a quick look... god, this game code does some nasty things!!

lea $fc8000,a0
move.w (a0)+,d5

this is not good on newer tosses.

I'll see about doing a fix, unless the master  that is : Ppera can use my findings to release a bodged version.

It looks like the coders read ROM to get random numbers for their screen fill routine!!

Also ATA did his usual trick of setting the stack to ramtop (naughty boy!) so the loader didn't work on 4mb.

And I thought Menace was the the only game stupid enough to do this.
It used values from ROM to generate a random starfield.  Grin

That's doubly stupid, because numbers from ROM wouldnt be random Smiley

Ok, here's Rainbow Warrior fixed for STe and 4mb.

Well, I say fixed.... it works on my 4mb MSTe so that's enough for me.

hurry up and download this file before I wield my authoritarian big stick and lock this thread!! After all, I run this BBS and what I say goes!  Wink

The Andy the Arfling version was so lame, instead I've ripped pcock version and removed all the crack text.....  so......... noughties you know Smiley

Cheers, Shw.

Thanks for working on that so quickly.  Seems to work on STEEM engine now anyway. Wink

"thanks Grunaki! pretty incredible that you were able to orchestrate this title getting fixed, and thanks to the coders who fixed it too! nice x-mas present! did you guys know that the game was originally called Greenpeace? even the original disks I have still are labeled with the original title of Greenpeace, not Rainbow Warrior!"

Wow Shw... nice to know who they thanked first, eh? Bet it all feels worthwhile now.

So, next time someone will either ask personally, on this forum, or we don't acknowledge (or do) anything. No AF references, nothing.
