Hello RA!

im trying to stir up some motivation to contribute a screen..  you know what would really motivate me?!

if an ste master was to drop a few cheeky clues about interesting and unusual applications of the ste hardware (read: blitter)

I know that some of the ste freaks have got some mad tricks up their sleeves!  so dont be shy!  give us some clues Cheesy

I am no the STE master you are looking for...

but i have some manic ideas for you: Wink

  • Blitter-Gouraud
  • Blitter-Texturemapper
  • Blitter-MOD-Player: Blitter is changing sample frequencies
  • Blitter-c2p
  • Blitter Realtime-Depacking
  • Blitter-Zooming
  • Blitter-Alpha-Channel

There are so much things you can do with the blitter... and even more.

These are effects which have been done with the blitter or could done with it.

For Blitter-Gouraud you can read this article by RAY: http://freenet-homepage.de/ray.tscc/gouraud.htm
It is for Falcon but this can be used for STE too if you are using a c2p buffer. The used technique gave me also a lot of ideas for other things which could be done with the blitter.

Also keep in mind that you can calculate with the blitter using the bit oprations (XOR, AND, ...) and you can shift the result!

Sorry, that i won´t tell you all our current blitter effects before we have released them ourselves. Wink
